This May was the time of year when Visitmarylandheights.org excitingly got to reopen Aquaport, the city’s municipal water park. This fun attraction opened on May 26, 2018 and was open daily from 11 A.M. to 7 P.M.
Some neat features of the water park include 4 different slides and a family friendly pool. The pool has a variety of features including sprinklers, bubblers, and fountains. The Wacky Water Slide is a small slide that is safe for the little visitors. The Racer is a 50-foot slide that provides visitors the opportunity to race with someone else on the way down. The Tube slide is a 150-foot enclosed slide in which the darkness makes the trip down all the more frightening. Finally, the Extreme Bowl is for the brave at heart because it is an enclosed tube slide that sends riders into a funnel-shaped bowl in which they swirl around until they end up in the pool below. When the visitors begin to tire out they can take a break on a lawn chair, sit under an umbrella, get a snack or meal at the concession stand, or get ready to head home in the locker room that provides restrooms, showers, and changing areas.
The good news is that Aquaport provides a variety of different events, programs, and opportunities to save when visiting their pool. For starters, parking is always free! Discounts are offered to people with resident discount cards or business privilege cards and season passes are offered to those who think that they will come to the pool often. There are also various days throughout the summer where special discounts are offered or events are held, like on Father’s Day dads get in free and there will be special activities.
